It’s been a good year
and God continues to be faithful to us. Let us explain...
In some ways, it was a difficult year! From November 05 to June 06,
Alyssa suffered from daily chronic migraine. We visited doctors, tried
numerous medications and treatments (diet, massage, chiropractors,
everything!) with no change in her condition. It made everyday life so
difficult, even simple tasks and our social life struggled for months,
as you can imagine. Finally, at the end of May, by God’s grace, we
discovered a book that recommended she get off all medications and stick
to a stringent trigger diet. After a painful “detox” week (and I mean
painful!), she was on her way to recovery. The process has been slow and
every now and then we’re hit with a serious attack, but we praise God
that we both have our lives back. Alyssa’s even able to work-out again
and has energy after work in the evenings!

Steve has experienced increased responsibility at work. In addition to
his work with the T-6A subsystems, he is also leading a team that is
researching and investigating problems with the landing gear. This has
taken him on the road to Florida, Texas, and Kansas. But he’s enjoying
the opportunity.

We’ve been active at church, especially with our small group. And this
Christmas, we were asked to play Mary and Joseph in a 4-night production
with guest singer Jaci Valesquez. We agreed, not realizing it would be
such a big deal! Should have known! We were stretched, since neither of
us are actors, but were ultimately blessed by seeing how the audience
was touched by the overall performance. Over 6,000 people attended
throughout the week.

Friends
from church, home, school, and play...
And some fun news – we got a puppy, a little Bichon Frise named Selah!
She’s adorable and thoroughly spoiled, since we can’t resist those puppy
eyes! She’s been a fun addition to our household, that’s for sure. Right
now, we’re working on “Drop it!” and “Shake.” She’s slowly, with much
practice, getting the hang of it.

adorable puppy!
This year we were able to take some road trips with friends to
Asheville, NC and Savannah, GA. We soaked up the sun and the beach and
got to enjoy the Lazy Old South. It was a great experience – recommended
to all!

Thanks for keeping in touch. Have a wonderful Christmas season and God
bless your new year!!

In memory of Grandma
Pavlik, who went home to be with her Lord this year.
She was dearly loved and will be missed by all.
