Physical Health Tips
Doctors and therapists tell how we breathe so slowly and shallowly and need to take ten deep breathes 2 or 3 times a day, hold for about 5 seconds and then breathe out slowly. This puts more oxygen into your blood and body.

Healing Power of Cinnamon and Honey; Leg Strengthening

Celeste and I memorized hundreds of verses through Young Life and the Navigators. It is the best medicine we have ever had. It will heal and cure more spiritual diseases than any other thing. Memorizing Scripture is a lost art. Try it for yourself, memorize one verse a week. Repeat it to one another for seven weeks and it will last a life time.

1. Physical health tip: Cinnamon & Honey
We make no claims or assurances of healing but only pass on information we have gathered. "This was all given to us by a health therapist". It is found that a mixture of honey and cinnamon can cure many if not most diseases. Scientists of today also accept honey as a "Ram Ban" (very effective) medicine for all kinds of diseases. Honey can be used without any side effects for any kind of diseases. weekly World News, a magazine in Canada, in its issue dated 17 January, 1995 has given a list of diseases that can be cured by honey and cinnamon as researched by western scientists:

FATIGUE:
Recent studies have shown that the sugar content of honey is more helpful rather than being detrimental to the strength of the body. Senior citizens, who take honey and cinnamon powder, or ground cinnamon, in equal parts, are more alert and flexible. "Delight thyself also in the Lord and shall give thee the desires of thine heart" Ps 37:4 YOU must know, you must believe, God wants His people to have "life more abundantly" Jn 10:10. Don't rejoice in your business or financial achievements but in the spiritual achievements you are making in yours and others lives for eternity. And guess what? He will give you the desires of your heart. Make sense. That is a great big TIP.
Recently for one hour over lunch I poured myself into the life of a terrific businessman. He told me later, "You saved my marriage, more than that, you saved my life" That is what life is all about.

2. Physical health tip
Being 85, I am vitally interested in being in good health to be a good servant of God.

I have been getting wobbly, poor balance, not dizzy, and fearful of falling and breaking a hip or whatever which so many older people do. This tip stopped my wobbliness, improved my balance dramatically, and is so easy to do.

The "unipedal standing balance exercise" as the researchers call it is so simple.
Stand on each leg for one minute with your eyes open three times a day. If you need to, hang onto something so you don't fall.

That's why we make all the fuss on weight-bearing exercise. By Sakamoto's calculations, standing on one foot for a minute would have an effect on bone density equivalent to walking 53 minutes.

Repeating this exercise three times a day would have an effect equivalent to taking three almost hour long walks a day. For older people who are not that mobile, unipedal standing may be an interesting option.

It appears to improve balance enough that it decreases spontaneous falls by about a third. Second, it produces mild strain to the bone, in theory decreasing the chance of fracture if the person does fall.

For people who are too frail for rigorous workouts or even walking, unipedal standing offers an alternative "exercise". Even for those of us who do exercise routinely, a few minutes on one foot may still provide added advantage.

The standing tip is a good one. Most personal trainers will tell you that it is the legs that go first as one ages. Therefore it is imperative to strengthen your legs and exercise on a regular basis. Do your exercise on one leg and add a small dumbbell and eventually begin to bend your leg and rise again. Work up to 2 sets of 12 repetitions for each leg. When strong enough use 2 dumbbells and do a partial squat not lower than 35 degrees. Observe, as you squat, your toes you should always be able to see the tips of your toes while squatting. I advise people to get out and walk...with their wives this facilitates conversation, prayer, good communication and stronger legs-work up to 3 miles a day.
